"The government was committed to promoting activities caring for the youth," said Punjab Education, Culture and Youth Minister Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan.
“These cannot be set aside merely as cultural events. These are informative and educational,” said Asghar Nadeem Syed, head of the Theatre, Film and TV Dept, BNU.
"Cinemas offered popular entertainment. We are living in a difficult environment. Children will suffer the most if there are no such activities," said Cinepax Limited chairman Arif Muhammad Baig.
“We always try to put a check on children’s imagination. This is quite unfortunate,” said Adeel Hashmi, representing the Faiz Foundation Trust.
"The sixth holding of the festival showed the growing popularity of entertainment for children," said Festival director Shoaib Iqbal.
