My drive to work for children and youth of Pakistan through the art comes from the deep belief that children naturally carry immense potential of shaping up the world. Our responsibility as adults is to stimulate their imagination so they can be free to dream; to educate them about the world they live in so they can be informed and make right choices; and to expose them to our rich cultural heritage so they can carry the human values to help others and continue the change for good in this world.
 
I have a firm belief that children, irrespective of their background or privileges they might have or have not, are always more intelligent, creative and more free than adults. They are the next generation of their own. Our roles as adults or society is to respond to their intellectual needs, help them ask questions and nurture their innate ability to investigate.

Promoting creativity and imagination is the way forward; to help children and young people shape the world for themselves, a world where they would aspire to live.

Shoaib Iqbal
Founder, The Little Art

Shoaib Iqbal is a Founder & Director of The Little Art, a non-profit arts education organization that uses art to promote positive social values through innovative learning opportunities among children and young adults, especially marginalised. Shoaib also founded the Lahore International Children’s Film Festival which has been organised annually in various cities since 2008. Shoaib post-graduated from DeVos Institute of Arts Management (Kennedy Centre for the Performing Arts, Washington D.C.) in 2007, holds a diploma in International Development from East Side Institute NY, a 2009 Commonwealth Fellow, a Fellow with 2013 Asia21 Young Leaders of Asia Society, 2015 Acumen Pakistan fellow and 2015 ArtThink Southasia fellow.
