Heritage Now

Heritage Now is a two-day festival that celebrates and reflects upon the cultural heritage of Pakistan. The festival will bring together professionals from Pakistan and various other countries to discuss pressing issues facing the museums and heritage sector in Pakistan through conversation, performance and art. 

Heritage Now is supported by U.S. Embassy Pakistan, European Union, University of the Punjab, Alhamra Arts Council Lahore, Luxus Grand Hotel, Alliance française Lahore and AFD. 

Its curating partners include ASSITEJ Pakistan, Morango, SAMAAJ, Social Innovation Lab and The Little Art.

The Festival is free and open to public.

Heritage Now includes panel discussions, academic paper presentations, exhibitions, crafts and performances, and art-based activities for children - providing an opportunity for people of all ages and interests to interact with our tangible and intangible heritage.

The Little Art is a curating partner of Heritage Now.

The Little Art is proud to be a curating partner of Heritage Now. Our role is to curate areas of children and young people's engagement in the Festival on which we worked for last few months.

The weekend festival is a showcase of heritage, and offers unique and exciting learning and engagement opportunities for all.

The Little Art curated the following components in the #HeritageNow!
- Showcase of selected films on "My City / My Stories", made by under 18 youth from #LICFFYoung
- Exhibition of paintings by children on Heritage
- Exhibition of Heritage photo walk photography by young people 
- An open studio for children and youth, to be engaged in heritage through art
- A pottery making workshop with live wheel and clay showcase
- Workshop on making basic puppets with simple materials
- A large scale mosaic painting, where audience will be engaged to paint and create mosaic of renowned painter Ajaz Anwar's work

Heritage Now is here. We are super excited to share that ASSITEJ Pakistan is a curating partner for this happening Festival.

We worked with the team of #HeritageNow to curate finest performance showcases, representing the diversity of intangible #heritage of #Pakistan. The following performances will be presented as part of Festival.

- Dance troupe Directed by Bina Jawwad, Harsukh along with Adnan Jahangir and Wahab Shah
- Sachal Studios performs with complete orchestra of 30 musicians 
- “Mughal-e-funk” - a contemporary musical performance based on the narrative of the Mughal emperors (Rakae Jamil and Team)
