Lahore I Love You

Lahore, I Love You, is an independent movement of love in the city to celebrate art, music, history, spaces, design, architecture and social initiatives.

Lahore, I Love you organized 4 photo walks as part of Lahore Biennial Foundation in 2018.

Our Senses and Nature

Space: Lawrence Garden (Bagh e Jinnah)

Nature provides inspiration to all people whether creators, makers or the general public and this influences their works and their perception of literature, music, technology and politics. The spaces around us breathe and are living and our connection with them need a deeper introspection. This walk will take young people around the old flora and fauna and botanical gardens of historical Lawrence Garden. They will also experience public art presented as part of LBF.

History and the Old City

Space: Lahore Heritage Club

The walk around the Lahore Heritage club and museum aims for young public to participate, in active dialogues on heritage and social advocacy issues both local and global and it draws in the people of Lahore, the cultural values of Lahore, and the people who have lived in city for some time and wish to dig deeper and connect at the roots of Lahore. The walk will take public on a journey through city’s documented traditions, the Sufi rituals and the various processes of Heritage preservation and conservation of the rich cultural heritage of Lahore for the young community to forward the living culture.

Built City – Islamic Art and Architecture of Lahore

Space: Lahore Fort

Lahore Fort has been a symbol of the city’s earliest days. If the walls could speak, you would be able to hear such stories that can leave the listener transported. The architectural design, patterns and corners of the space tell stories of triumph, love and adventure. The walk will be guided by experts on Islamic art and architecture and the young public will be looking into the old and new forms of architecture that make the Lahore Fort a spectacular heritage treasure.

A camera is not the story, the story is out there and how you find a story and how you tell it matters the most. Join this fun walk to explore the architecture, people, sights, and life of Walled City through photography, and most importantly to have fun. We will start with a warm-up discussion, decide some themes, can discuss some bits of camera tricks that can come in handy and will walk through time and space of old times. Bring your camera, along with a friend may be, it will be fun.

Photography Workshops with Youth

Photography workshops and photo walks for young photographers were conducted in summers. The workshop facilitated a dialogue on the aesthetics of photography, using photography to tell stories of culture and heritage and celebrating Lahore.
The young photographer work will be exhibited later this year in a public photo exhibition.
