NOTE: You can select one theme OR mix all/any of these themes if it inspires you for your artwork.
1- Jungle Adventure
Step into the wonderful world of the jungle. Draw your favourite animals, birds, trees, flowers, butterflies, insects, or yourself on a jungle adventure, climbing, exploring, or hiding among the trees. Your jungle can be real or imagined. What will you find?
2- My Underwater Friends
Dive into the wonderful underwater world and meet your underwater friends. Draw your favourite fish, sea turtles, dolphins, whales, octopuses, seahorses, starfish, or explore coral reefs, seaweed, shells, bubbles, and rocks. Who will become your underwater friend?
3- My Four Favourite Colours
Pick up to four colours you love, and draw anything you want using only those colours. You may create portraits, imaginary worlds, favourite places, everyday objects, patterns, celebrations, or an abstract composition. Colour is one of the most powerful ways to express ideas and emotions. Let your colours tell the story.
A Creative Tip
There is no right or wrong way to draw a theme, only your way.
Inspiration is everywhere, in nature, books, your everyday surroundings, and even on the internet. Use it as a starting point, then let your imagination add your own ideas, colours, characters, and details to create an artwork that is uniquely yours.

- Artwork size: A3 (12″ x 17″), canvas or paper
- Age groups: 4 to 18 years
- Any medium
- Artwork must be original and created by the participant
- Digital submissions are not accepted; the original physical artwork must be sent to us via courier
- Submissions are not returned
- Jury decision is final
Submission Guidelines
ArtBeat welcomes children and young people from every city of Pakistan to participate, either through their school or as an individual. These guidelines will help you prepare and submit your artwork.
- Choose Your Theme
Create your artwork based on one of the official ArtBeat themes for the current edition.
The jury considers every theme equally. Choose the theme or combination of themes that inspires you most.
- Artwork Size & Surface
Artwork must be A3 size (12″ × 17″).
You may create your artwork on paper or canvas. Both are accepted.
Paper is more economical, easier to transport, and less likely to be damaged during
shipping.
Any good quality paper or drawing sheet suitable for art is acceptable, including drawing paper, watercolour paper, sketchbook paper, and other similar art papers.
- Medium
ArtBeat welcomes artwork created using a wide range of art materials. You may use pencils, coloured pencils, crayons, charcoal, pastels, oil pastels, markers, ink, watercolours, poster colours, acrylics, oil paints, collage, printmaking, mixed media, and similar materials.
If using collage or mixed media, please ensure all materials are securely attached.
To help protect artworks during shipping and handling, please avoid using beads, pearls, stones, shells, clay, or other bulky or raised materials that may become loose or damaged.
- Preparing Your Artwork
Allow your artwork to dry completely before packing.
Please do not fold or roll your artwork.
There is no need to frame your artwork. If it is selected for exhibition, ArtBeat will arrange professional framing for display.
- Artwork Label
Download the official Artwork Label from the ArtBeat website.
Complete the label and attach it securely to the back of each artwork before submission.
- Registration
Choose the appropriate registration option:
- School Registration
- Individual Registration
Download the correct registration form, complete it on a computer, and upload it where required.
- Submission Fee
- Schools: Rs. 1,300 per artwork
- Schools submitting 30 or more artworks: Rs. 1,000 per artwork
- Individual artists: Rs. 2,500 per artwork
Fee proof, a screenshot or photo of the transaction, must be included in printed form with your submission.
- Packing & Shipping
Pack your artwork carefully to help prevent bending or damage during transportation.
Include all required documents before sending your package to the official ArtBeat postal address.
Please send the original physical artwork. Digital submissions are not accepted.
- Before You Submit
Before sending your artwork, please check that you have:
✓ Created your artwork on one of the official ArtBeat themes.
✓ Used the correct A3 size.
✓ Attached the Artwork Label to the back of each artwork.
✓ Completed the correct registration form
✓ Included proof of payment
✓ Packed your artwork securely for transportation.

ArtBeat Creative Guide
A resource for teachers and parents supporting young artists.
1. Choosing a Theme
Where possible, let each child choose the theme they are most excited to explore rather than assigning one theme to the whole class. Give children time to think about what interests them and encourage them to explore the theme in their own way.
2. Original Ideas Matter
ArtBeat values artwork that begins with a child’s own ideas, experiences, and imagination. Every child has their own way of exploring a theme. Encourage children to develop their ideas rather than rushing to complete the artwork.
3. Inspiration Is Welcome. Copying Is Not.
Inspiration can come from many places, including art, books, nature, online images, and everyday life. Looking at references is a natural part of the creative process. However, children should avoid copying an image exactly. Instead, encourage them to combine different sources of inspiration with their own observations, ideas, details, imagination, and experiences to create something original
4. Let the Child Create
Teachers and parents play an important role by encouraging curiosity, exploring themes, discussing ideas, and teaching artistic techniques. The creative choices, how the theme is interpreted, and the final artwork should always belong to the child.
5. What the Jury Appreciates
There is no single perfect artwork, and no style or approach more likely to be selected than another. Every artwork is considered on its own merits. The jury appreciates creativity, thoughtful composition, technical ability appropriate to the artist’s age, and an original and personal response to the theme. Every young artist is a star to ArtBeat, and every submission is valued for the unique perspective it brings.
Fee Submission
Note: You will be charged a separate fee for each artwork you submit. For example, if you submit 3 artworks, you’ll pay 3 fees — one for each artwork.
For Schools
Each submission: Rs. 1300
Discount
ArtBeat offers special disscount to schools on group submissions, upon submission of 30 or more artworks from each school.
Discounted Submission fee: Rs. 1000 per artwork

Each submission: Rs. 2500

Does the theme affect the chances of winning?
No, every theme is judged equally. Choose the theme or combination of themes that feels most exciting to draw.
Can images from Google or Pinterest be used for reference?
Yes, but only for inspiration. Let online images, books, artworks, or everyday surroundings spark an idea, then build the artwork around your own story, characters, and imagination.
Can children trace an image?
No. Children are encouraged to create their own artwork rather than trace another artwork or image for submission to ArtBeat.
Can artwork be created in groups?
No, ArtBeat is an individual competition. Each artwork must be the work of one child.
My child’s artwork looks very simple, is that a problem?
No, simple artwork is often the most original. A basic drawing that is genuinely the child’s own is valued more than a polished one that had outside help.
Can a teacher, parent, or family member help?
Teachers, parents, and family members can support children by encouraging ideas, helping them explore the theme, providing materials, or teaching artistic techniques. The creative choices and final artwork should be the child’s own. Please see our Creative Guide for more guidance on supporting young artists.
Can one child submit more than one artwork?
Yes, each artwork is treated as a separate entry. The submission fee applies per artwork, so multiple artworks mean multiple fees.
Can I change my registration details after submitting?
If you need to correct your registration details after submitting, please contact the ArtBeat team with the correct information.
What does the jury look for?
Creativity, thoughtful composition, and skill appropriate to the child’s age. Above all, the jury looks for artwork that clearly reflects the child’s own thinking and their own take on the theme, not technical perfection.
Will every submitted artwork be exhibited?
ArtBeat holds exhibitions to celebrate selected artwork. As exhibition spaces are limited, only a selection of artworks can be exhibited due to space and other practical considerations.
Why might an artwork not be selected?
Every artwork is carefully considered by the jury. Selection is never a judgement of a child’s talent or potential. Unlike a maths test, there is no single correct answer or fixed checklist in art. Every jury brings its own perspective, and different artworks connect with different people.
Whether or not an artwork is selected, every child who creates and shares their work has achieved something meaningful. At ArtBeat, we celebrate the creativity, imagination, and courage it takes to express ideas through art, and we hope every young artist continues exploring, creating, and sharing their unique perspective.
How can I find out the results?
Results are announced on the ArtBeat website and social media platforms. Selected schools and individual participants are also contacted directly where applicable.
How are certificates or prizes received?
Schools usually receive certificates and prizes for their participating students at the school. Individual participants receive their certificates and prizes at their home address.
Does every participant receive something?
Yes. Every child who submits an artwork receives a Certificate of Participation, regardless of the result.
What if my name is spelled wrong on the certificate?
Taking part through a school? Speak to your art teacher or coordinator, and they will pass the correction on to us. Took part on your own? Just contact us directly and we will fix it.
